recently i have visited the mall few times and it was okay form me but my last visit was an eye opener.. first of all the downside:
- mall is in the suburbs people who live there will suffer in national holidays
- kids who lives around it will have the mall as a play ground .. a good business strategy is opening a fancy baqala inside the mall and/or game wizz branch
- print outs i.e. roller ups are deadly stupid cheap .. they made the mall looks like almahameed flea market
- lacks signs i guess this is where the cheap print outs comes handy
- shops are scattered and not distributed based on categories in some places and in other places they are like the watches and jewelery .. i.e. nike is next to puma and those 2 are next to a ladies casual fashion .. toys R US is next to geant the department store WTF ?? .. one might argue kids will wonder around the shop till parents finish shopping, its not a play ground!! and it took us 30 minutes to find it .. yes i was looking for it
- an un assigned smoking area right on te corner of the cinescape escalator .. i smelled like ciggies when i passed by the movies .. there are restaurants where people walking around with food trays and guys blowing cigggies up your food when you pass by .. security is all screwed
- covered parking is fulled with retards, they park stupidly out of lines, a lot of knuckles heads lives near by judging their parking .. it has no special aid parking .. no family designated parking .. security personnel are lazy Egyptians whom are too busy smoking than keeping the order
- restaurants area are tiny and small .. where cafes next to the fake gardens are spacious .. the mall’s front is dedicated for flirting and blowing ciggies in a closed down place .. and the fake plants will frustrate you the moment you choke on the dust cluttering on it
- no phone lines yet!! .. ATMs not working yet .. you can pay by KNET .. business are loosing clients for that
now the upside .. i know i fried the mall but hey wait the good part is bigger ..
- the high level of outlets are there are just amazing .. dedicated sports wear shops .. new shops like nespresso with their awesome espresso maker.. a lot of international brands like CK and some designers haute couture
- a dedicated gallery hall .. they are hosting um kalthoum exhibition now .. with a fancy decoration which is nicely done which i really really love and adore (the decoration not the singer) .. they set the bar really high for the next item to be hosted there
- i can see the mall with it’s shops as the new al raya but in the suburbs
- amazing construction finishing
- you will always find a parking space in the cheap covered parking due to a spacious free parking area .. made it pretty easy for me to park
- near by my home .. its located in al zahra’a area (in my time its used to be a desert
God im old ) .. in the same old location of drive-in cinema .. with high way entrance from the 6th ring road .. best way to get to it is through route 40 king fahad or ahmadi high way the going on the 6th toward jahra - a great IMAX theater .. in TSCK.ORG.KW its only for documentries .. in 360 its there for all kind of movies .. i enjoyed watching transformers there for only 4KD
- a great morning shopping mall .. the sun rays .. the plastic fake hanged flowed makes a wonderful reflection .. sooo relaxing
- all of my favorite restaurants are there .. subway and of course crispykreme .. yum yum
- the fountain is magical .. only in the morning though .. but i love it
- the gallery will always be there to surprise us with new stuff to show case so it will always be new
- a lot of photography material .. curves corners waterfall gardens .. its awesome
bottom line its 12 out of 9 thats 75% good .. i never liked something this much hehehe .. if you liked my review .. post your own experience about the mall for the rest to share .. knock your self out
yea on more thing .. the um kalthom exhibition is so magical .. it will take you to an era where she was a live .. they even imitated her grave .. we almost took 7 turns to do 7aj XD .. no just kidding .. but the decoration is a great presentation of bibliography of a deceased celebrity .. you love it .. one thing got my attraction which was a letter sent to the late singer .. i loved the calligraphy im so learning it .. feast your eyes
